Hugo Automaton Box

Found some tiny unfinished wood boxes with glass lids at Michael's for a buck a piece.  How can you go wrong?

Here's a box I made featuring the automaton from Hugo:

Tarot Girl On Facebook

I have a Facebook page.  Every time I post a new entry here, I post a link over at Facebook.  So, if you hit "like" on my Facebook page, links to new blog entries will show up right on your newsfeed!

And who doesn't enjoy that kind of convenience?

March Full Moon - Crow, Sap, and Crust

March's Full Moon is coming up on Thursday night.  Aside from being known as the Worm Moon, it's also known as:

The Crow Moon.  Northern tribes called it that because the cawing of the crows was a signal of the end of winter.

The Sap Moon.  It's around March that the trees start to run with sap, letting people know that it's Sugaring Time.

And the Crust Moon.  March is the time of year when it can be too warm during the day for the snow to stay frozen, but too cold at night for it to keep melting, so the ground is covered with thin crusty ice.

Did You Know These Even Existed? Part 2

I didn't, til I saw them at Michael's yesterday.

Plastic miniatures in a tube for 8 bucks!  These wouldn't be all that remarkable if they only came in the farm animal/zoo animal type variety, but there are some really interesting ones.  You can get a tube packed full of copper-colored dinosaur skulls, which is....well, it's just awesome.  You can get a tube filled with knights, their horses, a dragon for them to fight, and it even includes a catapult.  There's one that's filled with ancient Egyptian things like mummies and King Tut's effigy and sacred cats and all kinds of cool stuff.

It was hard to choose, but I picked out the dragons for The Young Lad:

and "Around The World" for myself:

Everything was fine, until the dragons decided to try and devour my landmarks, and all hell broke loose:

Oh, well.
